Lead Game Designer

Responsibilities:
Leading and directing a small team in envisioning, prototyping, communicating, implementing, and balancing game designs
Designing game mechanics, AI behaviors, storyline and supporting dialogs
Creating level layouts and design specifications
Create and maintain game design documentation throughout the project cycle
Maintaining quality of the design through monitoring implementation and communicating with the team
Contributing to current and future game concepts
Scripting gameplay using a proprietary editor suite
Working with the teams producer and other leads to prepare and manage project schedules
Collaborating with other talented teammates to create great games
Requirements:
Work closely with clients design representative to ensure a shared vision and quality expectations.
Manage and direct small team with the conception and implementation of the game vision.
Strong communication and management skills a must.
Strong understanding of game mechanics, emotional/psychological involvement, risk/reward systems, level design, balance, and all other facets of video game design.
Work closely with artists to achieve appropriate visual style.
Work closely with programmers to build tool sets and functional gameplay/systems.
Work with other game designers to implement, balance, and tune gameplay.
Ability to collaborate with others on achieving a great gameplay experience.
Three-plus years experience, and at least two shipped titles in a designer capacity.
Preferences:
Console game development experience
Rapid prototyping skills a major plus
Level editor and 3D modeling software experience a plus
A great sense of humor
