Midway-Studios Austin is looking for talented individuals for Open City Scripting on a next-generation action game using the Unreal 3 Kismet scripting language. You will work with a group of talented designers and artists to create memorable scripted events, well-paced combat challenges and gameplay interactions and provide all scripting support necessary to bring our levels alive.
Requirements:
The candidate must be proficient in scripting languages/tools and other tools/techniques essential to game design. The candidate must be able to document their script design and ideally can contribute good ideas on one or more areas of a game's design. Likewise, the candidate must be able to successfully identify problems in a levels scripting, support other game designers with technical and creative issues, complete tasks to quality on time, and easily take creative and technical direction.
We are looking for creative and motivated professionals with the following essential skills and at least 2 years of game development experience....
Key Skills:
Must have previous experience with a gameplay scripting language or high level programming language.
Must have strong problem solving skills.
Must be willing to learn and work in Unreal Kismet scripting environment.
Must have worked on at least one previously published title.
Previous console experience is an advantage.
Previous scripting language experience is an advantage.
Previous Unreal development experience is an advantage.
Previous basic 3DSMax and Photoshop experience is an advantage.
Personal and Interpersonal Skills:
Must work well in a team environment.
Must be self motivated.
Must have a passion for creating and playing video games.
Must have good communication skills.
Must have a passion for learning new technology.
