Description:


The Migration Lead consultant must have strong technical skills. Additionally, the consultant is often the primary or sole interface to the client so they must be able to manage a broad range of challenges and must be able to understand the client’s business problem, define a solution to the problem, and develop or lead development of the solution at any level within the client’s organization. The migration lead in our Content Migrations practice plays a vital role in our clients’ migration projects and must have strong consulting skills. This unique position must be able to perform a variety of technical tasks, direct and guide migration engineers as they execute migrations, work with the business users to understand the migration requirements and business rules, and work with the migration architect to define and develop to approaches and tools needed to solve the problem at hand. Because the migration lead role is multi-faceted, the consultant performing this role must be flexible, technically skilled, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to bridge the gap between tactical details and strategic architecture. This position reports to one of our Practice Managers.








Responsibilities:





The Migration Consultant has a variety of accountabilities across a project’s lifecycle including proposal development, gathering business requirements, solution design and development, and deployment of the solution. The Migration Consultant works closely with the project manager, practice manager, and other team members to ensure overall project success and a satisfied client. The Migration Consultant’s primary responsibilities include:





• Be a leader in the company and on your project teams.


• Mentor your colleagues in the areas of Migration concepts and technologies.


• Work with clients to understand their business and technical challenges, identify the related requirements for a solution, and define appropriate solution approaches that successfully address their needs.


• Work with account managers and practice managers to position and propose solutions to clients and prospects.


• Work independently, with your colleagues, and/or with company partners to design, develop, and deploy client solutions that achieve our clients’ technical and business objectives.


• Work closely with client technical team members to ensure they contribute as appropriate to our project deliverables.


• Work with client technical team members to hand-off the solution and provide insight into the support and maintenance requirements for the solution.


• Drive thought leadership within the marketplace by developing industry leading articles and whitepapers.


• Follow the company Agile method and help ensure that project teams work to continuously improve it.


• Ensure that solutions are developed with high quality and that the team is leveraging the company QA process.





Overall Requirements:


Candidates should have 3+ years of consulting, managing and/or technical lead experience. Experience in software professional services a plus. Technical expertise related to development of content management utilizing the following technologies; OOD (UML Preferred), Java, MS SQL or Oracle, Ant, XML/XSL and Documentum a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills needed. A degree in Computer Science or related field required, and a MBA is a plus. Travel will be required up to 35% with an inconsistent schedule for short periods of time.
