Hello??? Austin Companies???

Excuse me, Austin companies?? Just how stupid do you think we (job seekers) are that we would work like dogs (see ad below) for friggin' $8. an hour? You expect people to bust their hump? FOR THAT? The ad is from UT too. They have the cash to be putting out to pay far better than that. Cheap skates. All of you Austin companies who advertise on here need to listen up. This is an expensive city to live in and your crappy *ss wages for these jobs do not help the situation. Why don't YOU try to live off $8 an hr? You should look at what you are asking people to do for that money and how far you are expecting them to drive and then see why some of you are continuously advertising for the same jobs. No one wants to do this grunt work for such crappy pay. It's an insult. Get a reality check. The job below is a perfect example of the kind of crap that job seekers are expected to put up with:
Special Events Assistant

Will work with Special Events Department at the Univ. of Texas School of Law.
Duties include some or all of the following:
Set up and drape tables around the Law School (You must be able to move tables that weigh up to 40 lbs.); set up food and drinks and all other necessary things (plates, cups, etc) for events taking place around the Law School; clean up from events that took place the day before or earlier that day (Break down tables, put away leftovers, tin containers, etc); run errands around Austin (will need to have your drivers license and take a Defensive Driving class, at no charge to you & while at work); will voucher invoices (must follow instruction and be thorough with work); file event sheets and invoices (need to be able to keep filing in order and caught up.); keep Sheffield kitchen clean and organized, (wash dishes, put away clean dishes, etc.); & keep track of inventory. Will need to let us know when we are low on supplies such as sodas, water, plates, napkins, forks, spoons, knives, etc.; sometimes we will have you order food for various events, so good phone skills are needed; each day you are scheduled to work, you are responsible for working on any events that take place during your shift, and possibly helping set-up for events taking place after you leave for the day. Must pay attention to detail.
When you get to work you are expected to check the event sheets for that day and make a list of what needs to be done. The events you will need to work on will have your name on them. This job is very active, so you may want to wear comfortable shoes due to the long distances that you will be traveling around the Law School; you will to work some nights or weekends but we will let you know in advance; you are responsible for keeping track of your hours and turning in timesheets on time.
Qualifications: --must be able to:
move tables that weigh up to 30 lbs
follow instruction and be thorough with work
keep filing in order
keep track of inventory
wash dishes & organize kitchen
--will need to have your drivers license and will take defensive driving class
